For most Spanish parents it's a problem when it comes to reading in English.  And if this is the case, may I suggest that you create a family/friend book club.  This could have economic advantages like book sharing, or "skill sharing" whereby a parent or parents offer to read the story with a small group of children in exchange for another parent or parents to practicemental arithmatics.
